The Assumption Greek Orthodox Philoptochos Society are offering the community a chance to purchase a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner and orders are currently being taken. Event Representative, Sherry Vlamakis stopped by Castle Country Radio to discuss all the details.

“We are an organization of women who do donations to as many projects as we can for the needy, for the not needy. We just want to help as much as we can. In fact, philoptocho means help, so we are there to help,” said Vlamakis. The organizations will use the funds earned from the dinner to help aid children in the local area with brand new shoes for Christmas.

All food must be pre-ordered on or before November 12, this includes all mail in order and telephone calls must be received by this date. “It’s $15.00 a plate, you get your traditional Thanksgiving Dinner, turkey, stuffing, potatoes and gravy, beans and a pumpkin pie cake for dessert,” said Vlamakis. Pick up for the dinner will be curbside only on November 18.
