Winter sports will get underway Wednesday with swimming traveling to Castle Dale to face the Spartans and the Richfield Wildcats. Basketball and wrestling will follow through the rest of the month of November.
After the season opening meet, the swimmers will be on the road in Cedar City for the Cedar Invitational. Their first home meet is scheduled for Tuesday, December 19 with Emery and Uintah in the newly remodeled pool. February 1st, will be the Region 12 tournament at Canyon View, with the State Championships taking place Feb. 16 & 17 at Brigham Young University.
Boy’s and girl’s basketball will both get going on Nov. 21. The girls will get started with their first two on the road starting at Cedar, and then a week later on Nov. 28 they will be at Maple Mountain. Their first home contest will be on Thursday Dec. 5 against Union. On Dec. 18, we will get our first look at the RPI. On January 11, the Lady Dinos will travel to Castle Dale to face the Spartans, and the Spartans will come to Price on Feb. 6. The final RPI will be released on Feb. 10 with the State Tournament on February 13 starting at home sites, the second round will start up on Feb.16, and the finals take place Feb. 22-24.
The boys will get started at home with with games against Union (Nov. 21) and South Sevier (Nov. 29). The initial RPI will be released on Dec. 18. January 12, will mark the first meeting of the season against the Emery Spartans in Castle Dale, and the Spartans will come to Price on Feb. 7. On February 10 the final RPI will be revealed along with the bracket for the 3A State Championships that will begin with the first round taking place at home sites on Feb. 14, and the second round two days later, also at home sites. The finals will take place at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield on Feb. 22-24.
The boy’s and girl’s wresting teams will get going on Nov. 29 when they both will travel to Duchesne, then they will travel to the Panguitch Tournament on Friday, and Saturday, Dec. 1 & 2. The Dave Smith Memorial will take place on Dec. 8 & 9. The Dinos will travel to Emery on January 18 and will return to Castle Dale for Divisionals this season on Feb. 2 & 3. And the State tournament will take place in Richfield at the Sevier Valley Center on Feb. 16 & 17.
The girl’s wrestling team will also take part in the Dave Smith Memorial in December. The Lady Dinos will be taking part in six tournaments this season, from Panguitch (Dec. 2) to North Sevier (Jan 12 & 13). They will also take place in Divsionals at Emery on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, and the State Championships in Richfield on Feb. 16 & 17.
The Lady Dinos drill team will get their competition season underway on Dec. 1 at Utah Valley University. On Jan. 13 they will travel to Roy and then again on Jan. 19 when they will be in Delta. The 3A State Drill Championships will take place on Jan. 31 at Utah Valley University.
