West Coast Show Support is excited to be hosting Christmas A La Vivaldi on Saturday, December 16 at 7:00 pm inside the Rio Theatre at 210 South Main Street in Helper. Program Coordinator, Kenny Driggs, along with Entertainment Coordinator, Ted Hinckley stopped by Castle Country Radio to discuss all the details.
This performance couldn’t be held in a better venue than the Rio Theatre as Driggs explains, “It’s beautiful piece of music and as we’re trying to make that space a beautiful listening room, it’s been a perfect combination. Like you said, third year, and we’ve been continuing to work on the acoustics of the room and we have improved our lighting system, even since last year. For me, its always a great opportunity to do what I love to do which is production design, and creating a beautiful listening experience for the audience.” Driggs has been working tirelessly to make improvements to the Rio Theatre and this is the perfect performance to show off those renovations.
There will be many talented musicians in attendance, like Rosalie MacMillan who will make this concert extra special. “Christmas A La Vivaldi, so first thing I had to do was find an amazing soloist, and I found Rosalie MacMillan, who is incredible. Anyone who has come to the show or comes to the show will know how good she is,” said Hinckley. The entire event, let alone the music itself, will get everyone who attends into the Christmas spirit.
This will be the third year this performance has been at the Rio Theatre and many folks in the community have made this a Christmas tradition thus far. “Yea, I think it’s a great addition. Everybody has spoken to how much they like the show, that it does feel already like long running tradition. We’ve had regulars already get their tickets and it’s exciting. Its actually going to vary a little this year too. It’s always a two-part show, so the first part is a little different this year – pretty cool,” said Driggs. He is looking forward to seeing the entire community come out for this great musical event.
Advance tickets are currently available by logging into https://www.eventbrite.com/ and tickets will also be made available at the door the day of concert with a slight increase in price.
