Lady Dino basketball has been searching for that first win sitting at 0-2 on the early season. On Tuesday night they would welcome the Union Cougars to Price and at the end of the game were able to put one in the win column, 54-21.

Carbon suffered their first two losses of the season at the hands of Cedar and Maple Mountain, and were looking to turn things around against Union.

The Dinos started fast and didn’t really give the Cougars a chance to breathe, putting up 14 in the first quarter and turning up the defense holding Union to five. Things slowed down a little in the second quarter with Carbon outscoring Union 8-6. But the Lady Dinos still took a 22-11 lead into the locker room at halftime.

In the second half, Carbon put it all on the line putting up 33, with 19 of that coming in the fourth. Defensively in the half, Union was held to just 10 points as Carbon turned it up and closed out the Cougars taking the 54-21 win.

Amiah Timothy led the Dinos with 14 points, she also added three rebounds, four assists and seven steals. Madi Orth added 12 with 10 rebounds and three steals, and Kylan Sorenson had 10, grabbing eleven boards, and three assist in the Dino win.

Up next for Carbon, Thursday they will be on the road for the Color Country Classic. Their opening round game will be against Orem. They will also face teams on Friday and Saturday.
