Despite holding a double-digit lead entering the fourth quarter, the Carbon Dinos were unable to hold off a furious Providence Hall fourth quarter rally that resulted in a 54-48 loss Wednesday night in Price.

Trailing 22-19 at the end of the first half, the Dinos outscored the Patriots 21-5 in the third quarter to take a comfortable advantage into the final stanza. The second half turned out to be a tale of two quarters as Providence Hall returned the favor with a 27-8 run to close out the game.

Senior Zeke Wilson led the Dinos with 17 points, nine of which came from beyond the arc. Center Kahner Raby also reached double-figures as he finished with 10 points to go along with seven boards.

Carbon struggled to find consistency from the field as the team shot just 37-percent for the game. Five of the team’s 16 makes came from the three-point line where the team ended 26-percent.

Ryker Butler continued to stuff the stat sheet as he delivered an all-around performance with six points, 11 rebounds and two assists. Sophomore Carter Warburton scored nine points on six attempts and handed out a team-high three assists.

Wednesday’s loss snaps a two-game winning streak for Carbon and drops the team’s overall season record to 3-3. With six games now in the books, the focus will shift to the Region 12 opener Friday against North Sanpete in Mount Pleasant.
