
Carbon basketball has been busy during the holiday break, and on Friday night they faced the Richfield Wildcats, the third team in as many nights. Richfield jumped on the Dinos quickly and didn’t let up, as the Wildcats handed Carbon their seventh loss of the season, 53-32.
The Dinos have had a rough go the last few games, but they did hold on to get the win over Delta on Wednesday 57-51. Thursday the Tabiona Tigers came to town, the Tigers are the No.1 team in 1A and Tabiona earned a 69-57 win over the Dinos.
On Friday, when Richfield came to Price, the Wildcats opened up fast and furious in the first quarter, putting up 16 on the Dinos who struggled offensively, only coming up with five points. In the second, Carbon found a few more points putting up nine in the quarter but gave up 14 to Richfield as they would take a 30-14 lead to the locker room.
In the second half, the Dinos would attempt to cut into the Wildcat lead, however, Richfield just kept the pace and both teams coasted in the final eight minutes, as they would combine for just 13 points, but Richfield did enough taking the 53-32 win.
Ryker Butler scored 12 for the Dinos grabbing six rebounds, Kahner Raby had six with three boards and Zeke Wilson scored five with a pair of rebounds and a pair of assists.
The Dinos hold a 5-7 overall record with a 1-3 mark in Region 12 play holding the No.12 spot in the RPI.
Carbon gets back on the court on Wednesday when they will travel to face Manti (10-4, No. 4)
