JoAnn Lynette Naylor Glass, our loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, nurse, and daughter of God returned home to our loving Heavenly Father in the early morning hours of January 4, 2024.
She was born in Dragerton, Utah on March 15, 1959 to John and Barbara Jensen Naylor. JoAnn was the fourth of eight children; four boys and four girls.
She spent her early years growing up in Sunnyside and helping to tend her younger siblings. She graduated from East Carbon High School and then attended the College of Eastern Utah where she received her Nursing Degree. She knew at a young age that she was meant to be a caregiver. She chose to dedicate her life to the caring of others. JoAnn was the type of person that would be there for any person that fell ill or needed assistance, without being asked. She never waited to be called. It was her calling to be there and tend others, along with her parents, husband, in-laws, and friends. She helped tend their homes, take them to their appointments, and helped them with their physical health. The distance between her home and theirs’ was never an issue to JoAnn. Planes were never a mode of transportation for JoAnn. JoAnn enjoyed being on the road traveling to Minnesota to spend time seeing to the needs of her dear aunt Glenda.
JoAnn spent thirty plus years being a nurse and strengthening her career, teaching CAN classes, being a home health nurse, and being the director of her nursing unit.
She grew up in Sunnyside where she met and married, Wayne Rea, and together they had three children, making it a family of four with the child she already had. JoAnn later met, Jason Glass and moved to Provo where they started a family together and JoAnn then had two more children. From these unions, JoAnn got the best joy in her life by having six children, fifteen grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter who she loved dearly and spent most of her days with.
JoAnn loved making quilts for her family members. She also loved reading romance novels; she could finish a book in one day. She enjoyed traveling to see family and being on the road, but above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Being a grandma consumed JoAnn’s life.
JoAnn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is sealed to her husband, Jason Glass. She loved taking her grandchildren to church on Sunday and was a firm believer that the church was true and loved to tell her grandchildren about it.
She is survived by her children, David Rea, Bobbie Jo Rea, Kathleen (Jose) Gonzalez, Sarah (Dylon) Chandler, and Stoney Glass; grandchildren, Hayden Mcdonald, Carmelita Rubio, Jazmine Rea, Sunnie Rea, Riley Seiter, BeBe Sieter (Naylor), Jason Gonzalez, Miguel Gonzalez, Angel Gonzalez, Dylon Chandler, Jr., Ariyah Chandler, Chase Chandler, David Rea, Jr., and DavLynn Joy Rea Dean; great-granddaughter, Paizlee Mcdonald; siblings, Barbara (Paul) Robinett, Debbie (Valyn) Bernard, Michelle (Jim) Gilbert, Johnny Naylor, Jim Naylor, and Mike (Tammy) Naylor; and aunt, Glenda Jensen.
