The Canyon View Falcons came to town on Tuesday night to take on the Lady Spartans. Emery was coming off a big win over Manti last Thursday at the Spartan Center and was ready for the Falcons. Emery used a 28-point fourth quarter to seal the lead taking the 67-52 win.

Emery had a down December going 2-5, closing out the month on December 19 with a six-point loss to No.2 Richfield

These two teams were very evenly matched in the first half, going back and forth, with Canyon View holding a three-point lead at the end of one and the Lady Spartans cut into it by the slimmest of margins, as Canyon View took the 22-20 lead into the locker room at the half.

In the second half, Emery came out and flexed their offensive muscles putting up 19 while also holding the Falcons to 12 to take the lead going into the final eight minutes. In the fourth, the Lady Spartans took control putting up 28 points and outscoring the Falcons by 10 in the quarter, taking the 67-52 victory.

Katelyn Nielson put 18 on the board for Emery adding four rebounds, three steals, and an assist. Kali Jensen added 15 with three rebounds, Aliya Lester scored 10 with five assists, four rebounds, and a pair of steals.  Kenadie Maughn led the team with seven boards.

Emery is sitting at 8-5 overall and 3-2 in Region 12 play and sits in the No. 8 spot in the latest RPI, they will welcome the Lady Dinos to the Spartan Center on Thursday night.

Carbon comes to Castle Dale with a 10-4 record and a 5-0 mark in league play they sit in the No. 3 spot in the RPI.
