The Spartan wrestling crew traveled to Herriman to the Real Salt Lake Academy to participate in the Rockwell Rumble. 66 schools from across the region took part in it and with a reduced squad Emery landed in 54 place.

Layton took the top spot scoring 254 points, followed by Bishop Kelly from Boise, Idaho in second with 201.5. Juab, Pleasant Grove, and West Lake made up the top five.

Monty Christiansen, coming off of his first-place finish at the All-Star Duals earned a third-place finish with a 6-1 record. Tayden Allred at 144 pounds ended the weekend with a 2-2 record.

We’re in the final month of the season which will come to an end on January 27. The opening round of the tournament will take place February 2 & 3 with Division A taking place at Union High School and Division B taking place in Castle Dale at Emery High. The finals will take place on February 16 & 17 at Utah Valley University.

Emery heads back to the mat on Wednesday when they travel to South Sevier. On Thursday the Carbon Dinos come to Castle Dale.
