Carbon High School swim coach Allie Chamberlain received the Utah High School Activities Association’s 3A Coach of the Year Award Wednesday afternoon at a ceremony held in Draper.

Surrounded by a group of Distinguished Services award winners, Chamberlain was named the top coach in all 3A sports. The nominations for the award are presented by regions through the UHSAA Executive Committee each year.

The award is long overdue for Chamberlain, who is one of only 15 swim coaches to win at least three girls state championships in the UHSAA’s history.

Chamberlain served three seasons as an assistant coach at Carbon before taking over the program in 2018. With a solid foundation set from the previous coaching staff, she has continued to elevate the program.

During Chamberlain’s time as head coach, the Carbon Lady Dinos have become the most successful high school program in the Castle Country area. After a second-place finish in 2018, the Lady Dinos earned three consecutive state championships from 2019 through 2021. The Carbon girl’s program has finished inside the top three in each of Chamberlain’s six years at the helm.
