Emery Spartan boy’s basketball was home for the final time this season and they welcomed the Richfield Wildcats to the Spartan Center Friday night. Emery came out firing and kept it going taking a 53-39 win.

The Spartans will close out the regular season with four road games, so it was important to hold home court as we get closer to tournament time.

Wherever the game is held the crowd knows that both teams will come out ready and the game on Friday night wasn’t any different, even though they started out quietly as the Spartans took a small lead at the end of the first quarter 10-8. In the second, Emery took control putting serious distance between them and the Wildcats, pushing their lead to 28-13 as they went to the locker room at halftime.

In the second half, Emery kept Richfield at an arm’s lenght never letting them get close, and taking care of their home court, as Emery would close the Wildcats out taking the 53-39 win.

On “Senior Night”, senior  Zack Tuttle led the Spartans with 17 points, five rebounds and three steals. Another senior, Luke Justice, scored 11, with seven assists and a pair of rebounds. Senior Matt Olsen had nine, with three steals and a pair of reboundsin the Spartan victory.
