Eastern Utah Community Credit Union (EUCCU) is looking to assist its members in achieving their educational goals at USU Eastern with a scholarship.  Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with EUCCU Representative, Paige Anderson to get all the details for interested applicants.

“Qualifications are really easy. Number one, you have to be a member at Eastern Utah Community Credit Union, and like we’ve talked so many times before, that’s super easy. If you haven’t come down to become a member it’s $25.00, identification and a couple minutes of your time and we can get you applied,” said Anderson. This scholarship is open to members in Carbon, Emery and Grand Counties who plan on attending USU Eastern as a full-time student for the Fall Semester 2024.

If you fit all the above qualifications you can apply for the scholarship on the EUCCU website at https://euccu.com/  “Go to our website https://euccu.com/ the application is right there, it’s right there when you very first come to the page, you’ll see scholarships available, you click on it, and you can apply right on our website,” explained Anderson. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is Mar. 3.

There is not a specific dollar amount that is awarded to each student it is on a “as need” basis as Anderson explains, “We open it up not even knowing how many scholarships we want to give out. Depending on what kind of applicants we get and how many people apply, we give out based on who we think needs it and how many people apply.” Last year EUCCU assisted five students and the year before it was four students.

EUCCU is a community credit union that looks for ways to give back to the community throughout the year. “We love giving back to the community and to our members. Specifically, we have a heart for education at the credit union. We love working with schools on teaching students about finances, we love donating to educational programs. This is just another way that we can help pour back into our community,” stated Anderson.
