The Lady Spartans made the long trip to Cedar City to face the Canyon View Falcons. With a little more than 10 days left before tournament play starts, every game is important. Emery used a big second quarter to build a lead that they would carry to a 58-41 win.

Emery is 6-3 in their last nine and collected wins in the last two. The opening round of the State Tournament is coming up on February 13. But there are two games left in the regular season.

In the game at Canyon View, the first quarter was very low-scoring with Emery putting up just seven points, but in the second quarter, they took off. The Spartans jumped out putting up 17 points and holding the Falcons to nine, taking a 24-15 lead into the locker room at halftime.

In the third quarter, Canyon View came out firing putting 17 on the scoreboard and cutting the Lady Spartans lead to 40-32 going into the final eight minutes. Emery added another 18 to their score, taking the 58-41 win.

Kenadie Maughn, who has come into her own of late, put up 18 to lead the Spartans. Aliya Lester added 15 points and Katelyn Nielson 10 in the Emery win.

Emery moves to 12-8 this season and 7-5 overall. The final RPI will be released on February 10 and the opening round of the State Championships will begin on the 13th.

Emery will be on the floor Tuesday when they face the Lady Dinos in Price.
