The C.A.R.E. Coalition, along with event sponsors Southeast Utah Health Department, Kiwanis Club International and Four Corners Community Behavioral Health have all teamed up to bring the community together for a free Family Movie Night at the King Koal Theatre on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 5:00 pm. C.A.R.E. Coalition Coordinator, Alyssa Potter stopped by Castle Country Radio to share details with listeners.
“We started last year and we go once a month, and we go to a different city across Carbon County every month so that we can spread out and reach all of the community where there at. Last month we were in Helper for a bowling night and then this month we’re in Price so we’re going to have a movie night at the King Koal Theatre,” stated Potter. This is free event for families to come spend an evening together without any interruptions and open the lines the communication about tough subjects.
At every C.A.R.E. Community Connections event there is always something educational that is shared with families that evening. “At the Family Movie Night we’re going to be highlighting Prescription & Over The Counter Medication Safety. So we’re going to have some previews before the movie. You are going to be able to watch with your family to learn more about how to keep yourself and your family safe, not just through prescription medications but also those over-the-counter medications,” explained Potter. Families will leave with some great talking points to continue the conversation at home
The doors open at 5:00 pm that evening with the movie scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm. It is not known at this time what the movie will be but it will be a splendid surprise. The theatre’s concession stand will be open and all items will be available for purchase.
