Three local teens are headed to the State Pageant in the Covey Center in Provo on Feb. 15 they’re set to compete all weekend for the title of Miss Utah Teen. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with the three young ladies to get to know them a little.

Miss Carbon County Teen, Tatum Tatton, talks about what to expect at the pageant, “So on Thursday, we have our interview, which I’m excited for because it’s like doing a radio interview, super fun and getting to know everyone is awesome. That night, it’s not judged, but we have a fashion show and just something fun to kick off the week. Friday night we compete fitness, where we get to model Rebel Athletic wear, which is super exciting. Then we either compete in our talent competition or our on-stage question and evening gown competition.” Tatton is currently a sophomore at Carbon High and she’s also that Sophomore Class President.

Miss Eastern Utah Teen, Burcklee Brady, shares her platform for the pageant, “My platform is #socialmediasmart its focuses on social media safety and I just give tips and advice on social media safety and out to stay safe.” Brady is currently a freshman at Carbon High School and her favorite subject is Language Arts.

Miss Castle Country Teen, Elizabeth Nelson, shares what her platform is, “My platform is called Why I Stand. It’s about how I want to teach anyone that I can but why we should stand for the flag because it’s really important and it kind of defines who we are, because of where we’re from.” Nelson is currently a sophomore at Carbon High and her favorite subject is Weight Lifting.

All three young ladies were able to model their competition wardrobe, perform their talents and discuss their community service initiative at a Send-off Party that was held in their honor on Feb. 13. When you see these young ladies in the community be sure to wish them luck and thank them for representing our county with pride.
