During the segment, the two discussed UFC 318, as Max Holloway will put his "BMF" title on the line against Dustin Poirier. The two also discussed Fierce Fighting Championship's return to the Carbon County Event Center on Saturday, July 26, and the card, which features five locals and three rematches.
Monday's Drive Time Sports featured college football guru Phil Steele, who talked about a variety of college football topics and the release of his annual book "Phil Steele's College Football Preview". During his time on the show Steele previewed both Utah and BYU, plus the ACC adding Notre Dame. Also, a preview of tonight's matchup between the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Teams of 13-year-olds from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah will descend upon Carbon County in late July for the opportunity to represent the Pacific Southwest Region at the World Series held in New York in mid-August. One local team, the Battle 13U squad, will be coached by Darek Martinez, Rob Smith, Justin Powell, and Timmy Urbanik and represent Carbon County.
Ahead of the upcoming tournament, three members of the Battle team joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports. Jaxton Smith, Alex Martinez, and Mason Powell talked about winning the state championship and what's next for the team.
