The Carbon boy’s volleyball squad had their season opener on Tuesday night when the Ogden Tigers came to town.  The Dinos were unable to get over the humps against the Tigers as Ogden won in straight sets.

This is just the second game in the history of Carbon boys’ volleyball as the Utah High School Activities Association added it to the list of state-sanctioned sports.

Coming out in the first set the Dinos were able to keep it close for a time but the Tigers pulled away, taking set one 25-19. The Dinos would falter a little more in set number two falling 25-16. The third and final set was more Ogden, as the Tigers took the set 25-15.

Jack Hedin collected four kills, and Zeke Wilson added two. Evan Lancaster and Wilson both had three blocks each, Lancaster also added a pair of service aces. Conner Gleave, Carter Warburton, Eric Holt, and Lancaster all added two digs a piece.

The Dinos now will head to the Thunder Jamboree tournament, playing six matches in two days.

They will be back on the floor at Carbon High on March 21 when they will face the Grantsville Cowboys.

Game time is set for 6:30 p.m..
