Two overtime periods weren’t enough when the Delta Rabbits and the Carbon Dinos took to the field on Friday. In a defensive battle that came down to penalty kicks, the Dinos came out on top 2-1.

Carbon sits at a perfect 3-0 early on this season, and every game they have played has been against a Region 12 foe.

The game was all about defense as neither team could find the back of the net in the first or second half, with the contest moving into overtime.

Even though they were given an extra 20 minutes to decide the outcome of the match the score remained 0-0 after both overtime periods, and they moved into penalty kicks, and at the end of that phase, Carbon was able to secure the win 2-1 on kicks.

The Dinos are on the road Wednesday to face the Richfield Wildcats, and will not be playing at home again until Friday when they welcome in the Manit Templars.

Game time is set for 4:00 p.m..
