
PRICE-A beloved wife, sister, and friend, Sylvia Elisabeth Arens La Tour passed away peacefully on March 23, 2024, at the age of 73 in Price, Utah with her husband, Gary by her side.
Sylvia was born on June 1, 1950 in Prum, Germany, to her loving parents, Edmund Josef and Johanna Berta Sattler Arens.
Sylvia’s journey was one of love and adventure. She met the love of her life, Gary, during his service in the United States Air Force in Germany. Their connection was immediate, and their love knew no bounds. Sylvia and Gary embarked on a lifelong journey together, creating a beautiful life filled with love and companionship.
Together, Sylvia and Gary made the brave decision to start a new chapter in America, where they settled. Sylvia embraced her new home with open arms, immersing herself in the community and forging lasting friendships. Her warm smile and gentle demeanor endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. If you knew her, you loved her.
Sylvia was a woman of grace, compassion, and strength. Despite not having children of her own, she poured her love into her family, especially her dear husband, Gary.
Throughout her life, Sylvia remained deeply connected to her roots in Germany. She cherished her heritage and maintained a relationship with her four beloved sisters, who reside in Germany. Sylvia’s memory will forever be cherished by her devoted husband, Gary, who lovingly stood by her side through thick and thin. She will be deeply missed by her sisters in Germany and all her nieces and nephews. In her passing, Sylvia leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and resilience.
Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Memorial service, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Cliffview Cemetery.
