This year’s Junior Miss Carbon County, Linaya Peacock is hosting a Carbon Cleanup event on Saturday, Apr. 20 at 10:00 am. She is part of the Miss Carbon County Scholarship Pageant Program and part of her duties is to perform a day of service. She has chosen a few areas in the county to cleanup and is looking for volunteers to assist her.
She is asking that folks who would be willing to donate a few hours to help with the cleanup to meet at Lin’s Parking Lot on Saturday morning. “After that we’re going to give them assignments and then they are going to go out to the assigned locations and just help clean up the county. That’s just really what we are doing so that our county can be as beautiful as it can be,” said Peacock. She is hoping that with the help from volunteers within the community she will be able to accomplish the tasks that she has planned for the day.
There are three areas that the group are planning to focus on near Helper and Price. “We are going to go to Wendy’s by the overpass and also the Helper Park,” said Peacock. The other area that will be cleaned is the Asian Bistro lot on Main Street in Price. The Miss Carbon County Organization is donating treats, rubber gloves and garbage bags towards the cause.
Again, all community members young and old are invited to help with the Carbon Cleanup on Saturday, Apr. 20 at 10:00 am at Lin’s Parking Lot. “I would like all of you to come and if you are planning on coming, please message the Junior Miss Carbon County Instagram or Facebook page or text my mom at (435) 820-8707, so that we can plan on enough donuts and milk for everyone,” stated Peacock.
