The Emery Spartan track and field team is headed for their final meet of the season, the State Championships at Brigham Young University. The Spartans will send 19 athletes to participate in 20 events starting Thursday.

Creek Sharp holds the No. 1 spot and will compete in the 100, Sharp will take part in the 200 as well. Mathew Olsen will take part in the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles along with Boston Huntington. Jack Christiansen earned a spot in the 400.

Camdon Larsen has a spot in the 800, 1600, and the 3200. Dillion Larsen will compete in the 1600 as well, and in the 4×100 Sharp, Olsen, Huntington, and Porter Hurdsman will represent Emery High.

Huntington and Olsen will also compete in the high jump.

For the Lady Spartans, Megan Stilson earned the No. 1 position for the high jump, she will be joined by Abby Morris. Stilson and Morris will also compete in the long jump along with Amy Sorensen.

In track events, Morris will compete in the 100, and Skylee Guymon will take part in the 100-meter hurdles. Guymon and Morris will also compete in the 200. Guymon and Carli Hurst will take part in the 300-meter hurdles.

In distance runs, Gentry Christiansen, and Addy Guymon will compete in the 800, and the 1600. Addie Hurst will join them in the 3200.

The Lady Spartans qualified a pair of teams in relays. In the 4×400 it will be Skylee Guymon, Addy Guymon, Molly Christiansen, and Gentry Christiansen, and in the sprint relay Melody Lake, Lydia Jensen, Carlie Hurst, and Gentry Christiansen will run for Emery.

Things will get underway on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. and will conclude on Saturday afternoon at the Clarence Robison Track on the campus of Brigham Young University.
