Graduation is in season, and the class of 2024 at Pinnacle Academy had their chance to be in the spotlight during their commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 23.
Kicking off the festivities was GEAR UP Advisor Mika Johnson. Johnson spoke about the dedication of this year’s graduating class,” A large portion of them have said at least once that they are not going to graduate, or they were going to drop out. And yet here they are accomplishing this milestone.” Johnson continued her speech with a personal statement for each member of the graduating class,
Next was the Salutatorian address by Keira Davis, who spoke about the people who helped the graduates get to this point.” I would like to thank everyone who helped make this event possible. I would like to thank all the teachers who gave their time and energy to help get us where we are today. Your presence will forever be felt.” Davis continued,” We’re here today not only for each other but also for our family and friends who helped us work hard and seek knowledge, advancement and meeting our goals.” Davis concluded the speech by saying,” The road ahead might not always be easy. There will always be hurdles to conquer and challenges to face. However, it is by tackling these problems that we become stronger.” The speech was followed by a video tribute of childhood pictures for each graduate.
The Valedictorian address was delivered by Madison Sasser, who talked about what could be coming up for the graduates,” We are going to be going to college, starting jobs, looking for a house, or even starting a family. All of those steps that we may or may not take, that is a hundred percent your decision, but don’t let anyone pressure you into making you grow up too quickly.”
Castle Country Radio would like to congratulate the Pinnacle Academy class of 2024 and wish them good luck on their next adventures.
