Three Carbon High Rodeo team members finished in the top three of their events at The Utah High School Rodeo Association finals over the weekend held in Heber City.  Shalako Gunter, Ean Ellis, and Kashley Rhodes all punched their ticket for the National High School Finals Rodeo in Rock Springs, Wyoming in July.

The rodeo season is one of the longest in high school sports. Starting in August and wrapping up in April, it runs almost the entire school year, culminating with the State Finals.

Shalako Gunter is a State Champion in trap shoot, scoring 102.5 points her next closest opponent Bragen Clark, from Sevier, claimed second with 88.00 points.

Ean Ellis finished second in tie-down roping with 90.50 points behind the first-place finisher Trey Stembridge of South Summit and their 94.00 points.

Kashley Rhodes finished in third place in rifle with 89.00 points, behind Emery’s Wyatt Fox who finished first with 108.00 points, and Whitley Hatt of SUC, with 95.00.

Next up will be the National High School Finals Rodeo July 14-20 in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
