The Carbon High School football season won’t start till August, but on July 13 they will be holding a football youth camp for ages kindergarten to eighth grade. This will give kids an opportunity to meet players on the team and the coaching staff as well as go through some drills on the field.
The skills camp will cover different football drills that will be taught by players and staff alike. The camp is a great way to get youth involved in the sport as well as let them know how the program operates.
Carbon High coach Bradon Rushton joined KOAL’s Drive Time Sports to talk about the upcoming camp and his memories of attending them when he was younger.
“We want to get the kids to come in and see our program and interact with our football team. As a young kid, younger than I am now, I remember looking up to those high school football players and wanted to be just like them. It would have meant the world to me if I would have had the chance to go out and work some football drills with them and the football coaching staff at that time. So we want to provide that opportunity for that younger generation of Carbon Dinos.”
The camp is set to take place on July 13 at the Carbon High football field from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.. If you are interested in signing up your child for the camp the fee is $30 at myschoolfees.com. Any questions can be answered by calling the high school at 637-2463.
