The Carbon boys volleyball team’s inaugural season ended on May 11 with a loss in the State Championships to Salt Lake Academy. And on Wednesday the Deseret News released the All-State list for the 2024 season. Four Carbon players were given spots on the list that were voted on by the coaches throughout the classification and then published by the Deseret News.

The Dinos finished the season at 8-18 overall and carried a 4-2 record in Region 2 play. An initial win over Wasatch Academy in the first round was followed by a loss to eventual State Champion Grantsville that dropped them into the quarterfinal loss round to face Wasatch Academy.

Three Dinos were named to the All-State third team. Alexis Bueno, a senior setter, collected 50 aces this season and had 110 digs. Zeke Wilson, a senior middle hitter collected 25 aces and 25 solo blocks, and Evan Lancaster a junior opposite hitter, had 19 aces, 16 solo blocks, and 145 digs.

Carter Warburton, a sophomore libero, earned an Honorable Mention by serving up 23 aces and collecting 190 digs.

Ethan Powell of Grantsville earned both Player of the Year for 3A and Playoff MVP.
