Janet Gayle Clerico Patterick, 79, returned to her Heavenly Father on June 24, 2024. She passed away from complications following a fall in her home in May.

Janet was born in Price, Utah, on May 26, 1945, to Peter and Rye Clerico. She attended local schools in Spring Glen, Helper, and Price. While in high school she met Michael Thomas Patterick. Janet and Tom were high school sweethearts. They graduated from Carbon High in 1963. In 1967, Janet graduated from Utah State University in Logan, Utah, with a degree in Elementary Education. After Janet graduated from college, they were married in Spring Glen on September 2, 1967. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple for time and all eternity on September 2, 1994. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary before Tom’s passing.

After she graduated from Utah State University, she taught elementary school for four years. She taught first grade for one year in Fielding, Utah, and three years in Price before starting their family. She was a stay-at-home mom for many years and enjoyed being involved in the kids’ classrooms.

Janet and Tom enjoyed spending time with each other. This included working in the yard, traveling, and supporting their children and grandchildren at sporting events, musical concerts, and everything else that they were involved in. Even if they were unable to attend in person, they loved hearing a report. Since his passing five years ago, she has really missed being with Tom.

When their kids got older, she took on a new project. Janet and her good friend, Tonya Bruno, purchased Ann’s Hallmark in Price. They worked together and enjoyed this adventure for many years. Visiting with customers from the community, attending gift shows to purchase merchandise, and getting to know her employees were the highlights of this experience.

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Xi Alpha Zeta Chapter for over 50 years. Through this organization, she met lifelong friends, traveled, and did service projects for the community. She also enjoyed being a Jayceette, a “Bluegill” and a Pink Lady at Castleview Hospital.

Janet was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many positions. Her favorite calling was working with the college students in a ward at the College of Eastern Utah where Tom served as first counselor in two bishoprics. She and Tom also served together as missionaries at the Bishop’s Storehouse in Price.

Janet was passionate about several things, three of which were: lemons, the color blue, and chocolate. Her house was always beautifully decorated for every holiday. She did not like being cold and insisted on keeping her home at a tropical temperature. She was also passionate about being an engaged grandma who remembered and celebrated all of the events in their lives.

Janet is survived by son, Paige (Cameon) Patterick; daughter, Micah (Shea) Bradshaw; and son, Jaren (Diane) Patterick; grandchildren, Ashlin, Cameron, Kjirstin, Ryen, Holland, Carson, Brixton and Logan; and sister-in-law, Patricia (Sid) Baskin.
