On Monday, Aug. 19, the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce was joined by Jason Fletcher and Shayne Roy from DevPipeline to celebrate the expansion of DevPipeline into the Castle Country Area with a ribbon-cutting ceremony courtesy of the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce.

In the information age, knowing how to operate a computer is a must. And knowing how to not only operate, but program and develop software for computers gives you an advantage in the professional world. Businesses everywhere struggle to find software that can fit their specific needs, but finding mainstream software to do that can be a challenge. At DevPipeline, they don’t look to build the software for you, instead, they look to train employees or those looking for work on how to develop software that caters to their and the business’s specific needs.

Roy explained the goal of DevPipeline is to,” To lift people, careers and communities. So we’re here to serve businesses as best we can in the software/tech industry.”

During the ceremony it was explained,” We are an in-source software development partnership company. So we help companies with their software and we also train software developers through an apprenticeship program.”

Fletcher explained how the company’s apprenticeship program  looks to accomplish this,” We have a 45-week apprenticeship program that combines classroom learning In software developments and on-the-job training. So the apprenticeship program is registered with the Department of Labor and the Department of Workforce Services.” Fletcher continued,” And so we work with either individuals who are re-skilling or upskilling or who are underemployed or unemployed, and we can provide the training and the work experience. We also work with employer partners to help upskill their employees or to provide the services they need to get software-wise.”

Roy then took the time to talk about what he thinks businesses in the area will benefit from most by working with DevPipeline. “We can help increase margins by bringing back time back into manufacturing or any other processes through automation.” He also explained,” Most importantly, we’re bringing jobs to this community and so we’re hoping to be able to provide web development opportunities to the people here. That way they don’t have to leave their homes to pursue their careers.”
