The Spartan golf team traveled to Price for the region meet at the Carbon Country Club after their fourth-place finish at the North Sanpete match last week. The Spartans ended the day in fifth.

Richfield and Juab tied for first, with Carbon, Delta, and Emery rounding out the top five. Manti, Canyon View, and North Sanpete went sixth through eighth.

Juab’s Crew Cowan and Ty Bender had the low round with a 71. Jorgen Southwick of Richfield and Carbon’s Rydge Butler both shot a 73 and Dayton King and Levi King of Carbon each carded a 74.

Alex Hansen had the low round for the Spartans shooting an 83, Champ Justice (85), Bronx Olsen (86), and Dempsey Toomer (87) made up the scoring four for the Spartans. Crew Behling (95), Ethan Gilbert (102), Brendan Behunin (102), and Corbin Madsen (107) also participated in the match for Emery.

Region 12 will converge on The Ridge Golf Club in West Valley City next Wednesday, the course that will host the State Championships in October.
