Richard Eugene Gutierrez passed away on August 23, 2024 after a valiant battle with liver failure at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah.

Richard was born September 28, 1973 in Price, Utah to LeRoy and Ida Gutierrez. Richard grew up in Helper and loved to play baseball, basketball, and football. He played baseball for Carbon High School and graduated in 1991. In his early years, Richard worked for Murdock Chevrolet and Hal Murdock Distributing.

In 1998, Richard married Letty Martinez and they had one son; Richard Dominic in 1999. They were later divorced. In 2002, his second son; Ritchie LeRoy was born. On March 1, 2005 Richard married Maranda Slama in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their daughter, Stevie Ruth Ann was born in 2007. Richard found great joy in raising his daughter, Stevie.

Richard is survived by his wife, Maranda; his sons, Richard Dominic (Destiny Chambers) and Ritchie LeRoy; daughter, Stevie Ruth Ann; two granddaughters, Adella and Souline Gutierrez; parents, LeRoy and Ida Gutierrez; brother, Steven LeRoy (Heidi); nephews, Nathaniel Steven (Ashley), Andrew Luciano (Sara Hathaway), and Levi Parker; niece, Brooklyn Page; grandmother, Stella Valdez Gutierrez; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Sigfredo Trujillo, Fred and Lugy Stocker, and Patricio Gutierrez.

Vigil Service, Thursday, August 29, 2024, 7:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Funeral Service, Friday, August 30, 2024, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Cliffview Cemetery in Price.
