The Lady Spartans started the weekend taking on the Altamont Longhorns earning the win in straight sets 25-11 and 25-17 to take a win in their first match of the tournament.

The second match of the weekend Emery took on the Grand County Red Devils. The Lady    Spartans took the first set 25-22 and went on to take set two 25-15 to win their second match 2-0.

The third and final matchup for Emery Friday evening was against Jordan. Emery took the first 25-11 and set two 25-13 to move to 3-0 after day one.

Emery’s first match Saturday was against the Hillcrest Huskies. The Lady Spartans took the first set 25-22. Sets two and three were both big wins for Emery, 25-18 and 25-13 to close out the Huskies 3-0.

Emery’s final match of the tournament was against the South Sevier Rams. Emery opened the season against South Sevier, dropping that contest 3-1. The Rams jumped out in the first set taking the 25-22 win. The Lady Spartans came out firing in the second set 25-10 and earned a 26-24 win to take the two sets to one lead. The Rams came out and took over winning the final two sets 25-22 and 15-12, closing out the Lady Spartans to take the contest 3-2.

Emery has a pair of region matchups this week.

First off will be the Richfield Wildcats on Tuesday at the Spartan Center and then Thursday the Delta Rabbits come to town.

Both games are set to begin at 6:30 p.m..
