Carbon Lady Dino soccer was back on the pitch Thursday to face the Richfield Wildcats in a Region 12 tilt. Carbon used three goals in the second half taking the 5-1 win over Richfield.

The Lady Dinos moved to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in region play. On Saturday the initial RPI for the season will be released, ranking all the teams in 3A. That number will be updated throughout the season until the final one comes out at the end of the regular season, setting the field for the 3A State Championships.

Carbon came out in the first half finding the back of the net twice to take the 2-0 lead into halftime. In the second half, the Lady Dinos added three more with the Wildcats adding one of their own but that was the end of their scoring, and Carbon took the 5-1 win.

For the Lady Dinos, Malia Smith added one more goal to her total this season, Bailey Johnson scored a goal and had an assist. Andrea Swasey, Blythe Bradford, and Emma Bowman each had a goal as well. Kenzie Morgan had a pair of assists, Lydia Lancaster, and Chrissy Jones both had one. Madi Barlow had six saves in goal for Carbon in the win.

Next week Carbon has just one game against Manti on Thursday, September 5.  The Templars sit at 7-0-1 overall and 4-0-1 in Region 12. Last season the two teams split with each winning at home.
