Denise Ann Marinos Wheeler, age 55, passed on August 28, 2024 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

She was born May 12, 1969 to Jack Marinos and Mitzi Busio.

Married Larry Wheeler on June 9, 1989 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Denise was a graduate from Carbon High School and College of Eastern Utah in Price, Utah .  She worked for Tram Electric in Price until moving to Spokane, Washington in 2000 to support Larry attending law school. She later obtained her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix.  After Larry completed law school they  moved to Las Vegas, where she  worked for Light & Wonder, they were her second family, a gaming equipment manufacture as Sr. Director of Global Compensation for 17 years. Denise enjoyed reading and was an avid book collector, she enjoyed collecting guns many of them pink and going to the gun range. Denise enjoyed traveling, supporting animal rescue charities, and most of all spending time in Montana especially at her second home in Seeley Lake. She will be dearly missed.

Survived by her husband, Larry Wheeler; father, Jack Marinos, Helper; brother, Chris (Lilli) Marinos, San Antonio; nephew, Anthony; and her two beloved dogs, Buttercup and Bella.

Preceded in death by her mother, Mitzi; step-mother, Becky Marinos; grandparents, Mae & Larry Malaska; grandmother, Caroline Busio; in-laws, Lawrence and Jean Ann Wheeler and several aunts and uncles.

Memorial services to be arranged at a later date, and donations in Denise’s honor may be made to her favorite animal rescue, and where her Bella was adopted from, East Alabama Humane Society, at 702 13th Street, Phenix City, AL 36867 Ph. (706) 681-5002.
