Carbon and Emery along with 20 other schools traveled to Nephi on Thursday for the Juab Invitational. Schools from around the state and across all classifications took part in the event hosted by Juab High School. For the Dinos, the boys claimed fifth place while the girls landed in 11th. As for the Spartans the boy’s finished in Emery 14th and with the top two finishers on the girl’s side the Lady Spartans finished in 6th.
On the girl’s side, Timpview claimed the first spot and Box Elder finished in second. Freemont, Salem Hills, and Mountain Ridge rounded out the top five. With Emery finishing in sixth and Carbon ending the day in 11th.
Addy Guymon finished first with a time of 17:39.4, and Gentry Christiansen claimed second in the girl’s division for the Lady Spartans. Addie Hurst (13) Carlie Hurst (84), and Kallee Lake (92) were the top five finishers for Emery.
For Carbon, Allie Bryner (39), Brettlee Kennedy (51), Kaylee Pitcher (55), Alexa Jones (85), and Kiley Bishoff (99) made up the top five for Carbon.
In the boy’s division, Lehi finished first with Timpview in second. Box Elder, Freemont, and Carbon made up the rest of the top five.
Spencer Butler was the top finisher for Carbon landing in 16th place. Evan Criddle (27), Bradley Sweeney (39), Michael Weber (41), and Samuel Wilson (46) made the top five finishers for the Dinos.
Dillan Larsen ended his run in 34th as the Spartan’s top finisher. Zander Robinson (92), Jacob Erikson (95), Hayden Christiansen (96), and Benjamin Farley (101) made up the top finishers for the Emery Spartans.
Both teams will be back at it on Tuesday when they travel to North Sanpete.
