Supporting the businesses of the Carbon Corridor is a nonstop effort, but it’s one that the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to. With several events for the organization coming up, Castle Country Radio talked to Executive Director Barbie Haeck to learn more about what’s coming up for the CCCC.

The first topic we delved into with Haeck was the Chamber’s upcoming luncheon, “Optima Web Solutions is doing an AI training on Thursday, Sept. 19 at noon at Price Chapel. Price Chapel has great tech, so it’s a good spot to do that.” Haeck continued,” We’re going to be spotlighting Carbon Medical Service and Step One Service. And then the community spotlight is the Prehistoric Museum. RSVP by Friday, Sept. 13 if you can. If not, if it’s the week of the luncheon, still call me. We usually try to have a few spots open.” The luncheon costs $18 for chamber members and $25 for nonmembers.

Another upcoming event for the Chamber is their annual golf tournament on Oct. 4 and 5,” on Friday, Oct. 4, it will be scheduled tee times rather than a shotgun start. We’ll have tea times from noon until about 4 p.m., possibly 4:30 p.m. depending on how many teams sign up. And then on Saturday morning, it’ll be a shotgun start.” Lunch will be provided on both days, with winners being announced on Saturday, Oct. 5.

Also as a part of this tournament will be a raffle for various prizes donated by local businesses, with the proceeds going to the Nurse’s Banquet held in Dec. To purchase tickets, you can contact a CCCC board member, a full list of which can be found here, or contact Haeck directly at 435-637-2788.

Haeck also talked about the looming elections for board members. “We have two open positions. We’ll be sending out an email next week to chamber members to make nominations. And then if the nominees accept the nomination, then we’ll do interviews and we’ll have an election in October to fill those two positions.”

If you are a business owner interested in joining the Chamber of Commerce, it’s now easier than ever with the newly revamped Chamber website, which Haeck spoke excitedly about,” if you click on membership in one of the upper tabs, then you’ll find out everything you need to know about the different levels of membership. But we’d love to have you. And one of the things that we do for our members, among other things, is we advertise on social media. So if you have an event, if you have a sale or if you’re trying to get the word out to your customers, we can help you with that too.”
