Schools from across the state traveled to Fairview for this week’s race, The North Sanpete Invitational. Over 15 schools from around the state competed with the Lady Spartans claiming fifth place overall and the boys finishing in 12th.

American Fork came out on top of the girl’s division with Skyline landing in second. Mountain Ridge, Maple Mountain, and Emery made up the top five.

Gentry Christiansen had another great finish for the Lady Spartans finishing in third in a time of 18:33, just ten seconds off of second place and 25 seconds off the pace set by Skye Jensen of American Fork. Addy Guymon (5), Addie Hurst (13), Carlie Hurst (66), and Kallee Lake (87) were the top finishers for Emery.

Maple Mountain earned the top finish in the boy’s division followed by Skyline in second. Grantsville, Mountain Ridge, and Carbon rounded out the top five, with Emery finishing in 12th.

Dillan Larsen finished in 30th as the top finisher for the Spartans. Hayden Christiansen (72), Jacob Erickson (73), Daxton Larsen (82), and Jamison Christiansen (90) made up the top five finishers for Emery.

The Spartan runners will be a little closer to home when they travel to Price next Wednesday for the Carbon Invitational at the Carbon Country Club.

Races are set to start at 3:30 p.m..
