The Sunset View Golf Course in Delta hosted Region 12 on Thursday, and it was not kind. All teams struggled on a very tough course, with Richfield taking the top spot shooting a 307. Emery earned a fifth-place finish shooting a 342.

Behind Richfield, host team Delta finished in second place. Juab, Carbon, and Emery rounded out the top five, with Carbon’s Dayton King carding the low round of the day with a 72.

Dempsey Toomer had the low round for the Spartans with an 83. Alex Hansen and Champ Justice shot an 84, and Bronx Olsen with a 91 made up the remainder of the scoring for Emery.

There are four matches left in the regular season starting next week when they will travel to Cedar City and the Cedar Ridge Golf Course. The Spartans are set to welcome Region 12 to Millsite on September 26. Matches at Cove View (Richfield), and Palisades Golf Course (Manti) will round out the regular season and then they will close out the year with the 3A State Championships at The Ridges on October 16 & 17.
