With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of our loving husband, father, and grandfather, Ben G. Brady on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Ben was born on April 6, 1959 to Glenn and Shirley Brady of Price, Utah.

Family was at the heart of Ben’s existence. Ben met and married the love of his life, Lori Hansen Brady, on April 28, 1978. Since the day they were married 45 years ago, they have never left each other’s side. Whether it was going to the grocery store, on a razor ride, or taking a trip to the farm, Ben and Lori went hand in hand. Ben always had Lori’s best interest in mind and would do anything for her. His love for her was strong. Every day he made sure to make her smile with his witty comments, had her a cup of coffee ready in the mornings, and together they enjoyed doing projects around their home and yard. Ben and Lori spent countless hours hunting, fishing, looking for arrowheads, attending motocross races, cheering at baseball games, boating, and camping together. Where there was one, there was the other.

They planted their roots in the little town of Elmo. Ben was a proud parent of his 4 children; Buck, Laci, Lance, and Ty. He was quick to brag about them and let everyone in Carbon and Emery County know of their accomplishments. He loved teasing his daughter-in-laws. They couldn’t get one on him. Ben cherished his time with his family.

Cheerful moments and treasured memories were created when Ben was with his 9 grandchildren. He enjoyed teasing them and he dearly loved each one of them. Every kid in Elmo called Ben “Papa Ben,” whether he was their grandpa or not. It is no doubt that Ben’s contagious smile, support, and love will always be remembered by his grandchildren.

Ben was proud to say that he was a coal miner. He worked in several coal mines: Des Bee Dove, Plateau, Willow Creek, and Deer Creek. It was here that he made friendships that would last a lifetime. He was honored to work alongside other miners that shared his same values of working hard, trusting each other, looking out for each other, and building bonds of friendship that could never be broken. Ben would say, “There is no one better than a coal miner.”

Ben was a classic car enthusiast, especially when it came to Ford trucks. We always teased him because he thought he invented the Ford pickup truck right along with Henry Ford. In fact, if you’ve ever been to his house you’ve probably seen the parking spot reserved for FORD He enjoyed collecting classic Ford trucks and was often seen driving his grandkids around Elmo in his Model T or 49 Ford.

Ben shared his passion for archery hunting with his boys and his love for Mustangs with his daughter. He shared his fishing passion with his grandkids. He taught them to do the things they love and live their best life while doing them. His love and energy he brought and shared with them will forever be remembered. The mark he left on each of them will continue forever in their memories of life with Ben.

Ben will be remembered for his willingness to drop anything to help someone in need, his sense of humor, his smile that lit up the room, and his genuine love for the people around him. He touched the lives of many and will be leaving a lasting impact on all those that knew him. Our love for him will never fade.

Ben is survived by his sweetheart, Lori Brady; his children, Buck Brady, Laci Jo Brady, Lance (Katie) Brady, and Ty (Lyndi) Brady; grandchildren, Burcklee, Brayton, Deagan, Corbin, Makenli, Andee, Tafton, Skyleigh, Chandler; parents, Glenn and Shirley Brady; brothers, Tim Brady, Kim Brady, Glen (Lisa) Brady; sister, Shelly Brady (Al Garcia); sister-in-law, JoAnn Jeffs; brothers-in-law, Kirk (Nancy) Hansen, Hans Hansen; and mother-in-law, Henrietta Hansen.
