
On Thursday, Sept. 26, at approximately 12:41 p.m. a multivehicle crash resulted in both lanes of U.S. Highway 6 being closed. The crash occurred at milepost 235 near Spring Glen and has been confirmed to have resulted in five fatalities.
According to Utah Highway Patrol Officials, the accident occurred when a silver SUV was looking to turn east onto U.S. 6 from Spring Glen Rd. Attempting to turn into the acceleration lane, the SUV overshot the boundary and went right into the path of an oncoming semi-truck.
The semi-driver attempted to perform evasive maneuvers and get around the SUV, but lost control and veered into westbound traffic. According to a news release from the UHP,” The semi-truck then struck a Nissan SUV in the westbound lanes pushing it off the roadway into a rock embankment. During the crash, another individual was driving an ATV on the westbound shoulder and was struck by the crashing semi and SUV. “
All four occupants of the Nissan were killed in the accident, along with the driver of the ATV. The driver of the silver SUV was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

UHP Officials have released the names for the fatalities of the accident: Sang Her (56) from Brooklynn Center Minnesota, Lee Thao (38) from Brooklynn Center Minnesota, Bee Moua (26) from St. Paul Minnesota, Mai Lor (25) from St. Paul Minnesota, were the occupants in the Nissan Rogue. Gustavo Mendoza (35) from Helper Utah, was the single occupant in the Honda ATV.
All were pronounced deceased on scene.
