The last embers of summer are fading away, as Helper Saturday Vibes prepares to host their final event of the year, the end-of-season bash on Saturday, Sept. 28. To celebrate the event and to look back on the summer of Vibes, Castle Country Radio sat down with Joelle Amaya to see what’s going on when the party comes to Helper.
Opening up our conversation, Amaya first expressed her gratitude to the community for making Helper Vibes what it is,” I’m always sad when it’s over. We just want to thank the whole community for coming out and supporting us. We have the Helper Main Street businesses too, that open up during this time, and we appreciate them doing so. And also all of our sponsors. Our sponsors are such a big part of helping us get through the season. And without all of this, Vibes wouldn’t be possible.”
Moving from looking back to looking ahead, Amaya discussed the wide variety of activities that will be available on Saturday, starting with the music,” The Mothers of Mayhem are going to rock it up. They are a fan favorite,” Amaya continued,” so we’re pretty excited about Hyland Markel and Mothers of Mayhem coming out to perform.” For a preview of both bands, you can view them on helpervibes.com.
Another key part of each Vibes celebration is the specialty margarita, which Amaya spoke highly of,” we’re going to have a Peachy Keen margarita. So we’re hoping everybody’s going to have a Peachy Keen time. We’re going to use some fresh peaches for this one.”
Shifting from the more adult side of the event, Amaya discussed the kids’ activities that will be present. “So for the kids this week, our fantastic group will be doing a nature print using some items from nature, some leaves and sticks and stones and also using some paint. So we’re going to get their hands dirty and make some cute items.” explained Amaya,” And we’ll also have the bouncy houses going. We have the fun house combo and the Scooby Doo bouncy house coming back.”
One group of people making a special appearance at the event is the athletic teams of Utah State University Eastern. “They are coming with some games and good vibes. They’re going to spread some awareness of the sports that are coming up. And I think they just want to get out in the community and show they’re a part of it.”
Closing us out, Amaya talked about where the party goes after Vibes ends,” Once we’re done cleaning up, we have a little party at the Regis Club. We try to continue that good vibe over there.”
Helper Saturday Vibes’ End of Season Bash will take place on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Historic Helper Main Street. For more information, you can either visit helpervibes.com or follow the Vibes on Facebook.
