Lady Dino soccer traveled to Richfield to face the Wildcats on Thursday for the second and final time in the regular season. Both teams played even through two halves sending the game into overtime. Richfield found the back of the net in the second overtime taking the 1-0 win.

Carbon slides to 10-4 overall and 8-4 in region play, they also sit in the No. 4 spot in the latest RPI.

Both teams came out in the first half with defense on their minds with neither team giving the other an inch when it came to finding goals, as both teams went to the half tied at 0-0. The second half was more of the same as no one could break the Wildcat or the Dino defense, and after ninety minutes the score remained tied.

In the first of two overtimes, each team had their chances but it would end the same as the first and second halves scoreless.

In the second overtime, Richfield’s Sydney Brown was able to sneak one into the Carbon goal to earn the 1-0 win in double overtime.

Carbon will now square up with the No. 2 team in 3A Manti (14-1, 11-1). The first meeting between these two teams ended in a 4-3 win for the Templars.

Game time is set for 6:30 at the Carbon High Soccer Field.
