USU Eastern faced a tough 4-1 loss against Truckee Meadows on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Eagles took an early lead in the 9th minute with Ellyse Kessler’s unassisted goal. Still, Truckee Meadows quickly equalized through Catherine Rubio in the 36th minute, sending the teams into halftime tied 1-1.

The Lizards dominated the second half, starting with Gabriela Ruvalcaba’s goal in the 52nd minute. Abigail Ramirez added two more goals in quick succession, scoring in the 52nd and 55th minutes, putting the game out of reach for the Lady Eagles.

Despite outshooting their opponents 15-7, Eastern struggled to convert opportunities into goals, while Truckee Meadows goalkeeper Monserrat Iza made six crucial saves. The Eagles’ Sarah Newman recorded two saves but was overwhelmed by Truckee Meadows’ efficient offense.

USU Eastern (5-4-1, 3-4) will begin a three-game road stint as they first travel to No. 13 Snow College (9-1, 6-1) on Saturday, October 5 at 1:00 p.m.
