
On the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 26, a snowstorm that had settled over SR-96 is suspected to have led to a collision near mile marker 17, six miles away from Scofield Reservoir.
According to the Utah Division of Transportation traffic website, the accident occurred at approximately 1:50 p.m. A westbound Ford Pickup truck was struck by a semitruck traveling in the eastbound lane according to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cam Roden.
According to the UHP, ” The driver of the pickup lost control on ice-covered roads and veered into the eastbound lane, hitting the semi head-on.”
In a news release from the Utah Department of Public Safety, the department shares,” The 54-year-old female passenger in the Ford sustained serious injuries and died from the impact. The driver of the pickup was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the semi was taken to a local hospital by private vehicle.
The identity of the women killed has not been released.

The identity of the 54-year old female passenger has been revealed as Scarleth Ramnarine, a resident of West Jordan, Utah.
