On Wednesday, the cross-country season ended at Sugar House Park in Salt Lake, and behind a third-place finish from Rozlyn Stowe, the Lady Dinos are once again State Champions. The Dino boy’s team claimed a third-place finish in a field of 13 teams.
The Lady Dinos won their first championship back in 2022 behind Stowe when she was a freshman. Even though she missed the majority of this season, she came back in time to help the Lady Dinos build on what they had done all season and help her teammates cross the finish line with a State Championship.
The Emery Lady Spartans earned a second-place finish with Richfield finishing in third. Union and Canyon View rounded out the top five. Judge Memorial, Ogden, Morgan, Manti, Grantsville, North Sanpete, and Summit Academy made up the rest of the field of 12 teams.
Stowe finished in third overall, and Josie Yates ended her day in seventh. Aly Bryner (21), Kaylee Pitcher (31), and Brettlee Kennedy (36) made up the Carbon top five. McKenzie Fredrickson (77) and Alexa Jones (81) competed for the Lady Dinos as well.
Canyon View took the top spot in the boys’ division. Grantsville was in second and Carbon finished third. Ogden and Morgan made up the rest of the top five. Manti, Union, Richfield, Ben Lomond, Emery, Summit Academy, Judge Memorial, and North Sanpete completed the field of 13 schools.
Spencer Butler was the top finisher for the Dino ending his day in ninth place. Tyler Morris (22), Evan Criddle (23), Bradley Sweeney (24), and Samuel Wilson (25) made up the Carbon top five. Michael Weber (84) and Dallin Humes (100) also finished the race for the Dinos.
