It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved Vicky Lyn Butkovich who passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024, following a brave battle with brain cancer. Her strength, warmth, and kindness left a mark on everyone who knew her.

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother (Bebe), sister and friend was born in Provo, Utah on September 22, 1948 to Keith and Madge Roberts Skinner. Vicky’s journey began with a heart full of love and adventure. At the age of 12, she moved to Price with her mother and step-father Mike Mangus where she would build a lifetime of cherished memories. Vicky married her husband, John Butkovich, in Las Vegas, Nevada and together they welcomed two children, Tracy and John.

Vicky enjoyed the social life which led her to bartending at several establishments. She started at The Matador Steakhouse, moved on to The Elks Lodge, and then to Big Dogs. Vicky was known not only for her bartending skills but for her genuine kindness and willingness to lend a hand and was frequently asked to help out at private gatherings.

Vicky was most at peace when she was outdoors. She loved nature and would frequently partake in walks and hikes whenever possible. She had a great passion for rocks and would use these journeys as an opportunity to collect as many as she found interesting, or as many as her car would allow, whichever came first. The rocks she collected would further decorate her yard. She took great passion in her work and was very proud of what she had created and maintained year after year.

You could often find her lost in a book while relaxing in the sun. She enjoyed the comfort and warmth she received from her crystals. Vicky also took pride in her collection of Betty Boop novelties. But the highlight of her life was watching her grandchildren while they explored their interests.

When John brought home his first Harley it opened up a whole new chapter in their lives together. Vicky embraced the thrill of the open road, and the two of them spent countless hours riding together, sharing laughter, and creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Vicky leaves behind her children, Tracy Butkovich and John Butkovich; daughter-in-law, Nicole Butkovich; grandchildren, Dusti Dennis, Kierra Dennis, and Nicholas Butkovich; great-granddaughter, Ariana Dennis; sisters, Jeanette Santistevan and Roseanne Sailors; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends, all of whom felt blessed by her kindness and generous heart. She also leaves behind her beloved and cherished fur baby, Mini, who was her constant companion and faithful friend.

Preceding her in death are her husband, John Butkovich; parents, Keith Skinner and Madge (Mike) Mangus; and brother, Craig Skinner.

Vicky you were always a “free bird.” May you now spread your wings and fly. Thank you for the love, laughter, and light you brought into this world. You will always remain in our hearts and we will carry you with us forever.

Per Vicky’s request there will be no services. A celebration of life will be at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell’s Funeral Home where friends may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
