The Spartans football team will be playing in the State Championship game marking an end to the fall sports season on Saturday, and the winter sports season has begun. Last weekend the Spartan Swim team traveled to Cedar City for the Cedar Invitational. Basketball and both boy’s and girl’s wrestling will be starting in the coming weeks.
The swim team got back to work over the weekend on the road and their first home meet will take place on November 26 when they will welcome Grand and Carbon to the Emery County Aquatic Center. They will be back home on December 18 when Richfield comes to town. On January 7 they will welcome Manti and Uintah, and the final home meet will be on January 16 when they face Union and Payson. The Region Championships will be hosted by Canyon View on January 24 and the State Championships will be at Brigham Young University on February 7 & 8.
The Lady Spartans Basketball squad gets things started on the road on November 19 when they will take on South Sevier. They welcome Beaver to the Spartan Center for the first home game of the season on November 26. On December 16, we get our first look at the RPI rankings for the season. The first two rounds of the State Playoffs will take place on February 11 & 14 at home sites and the State Championships will happen February 24-26 at Utah Valley University.
The boy’s team will open the season on the road at South Summit on November 20. They will welcome Providence Hall to the Spartan Center on November 27 at 7:00 p.m., for their first home game of the season. The Initial RPI will be released on December 16 and the first and second rounds of the playoffs will be held at home sites on February 12 & 15, with the State Championships taking place on the campus of Utah Valley University on February 24 -26.
The Emery Spartan wrestling squads head to the mat on December 3 when Delta comes to the Spartan Center to take on both the boys’ and girls’ teams. The teams will travel for the divisional round at South Summit on January 31 and February 1. The State Championships will take place on February 12 and 13 at Utah Valley University.
