Former San Francisco Giants pitcher and current pre-game/post game analyst Bill Laskey joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports Wednesday afternoon for his weekly segment on the show. This week's segment focused heavily on the career and legacy of baseball icon Willie Mays, who passed away on Tuesday, June 18 at the age of 93.

Teams of 13-year-olds from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah will descend upon Carbon County in late July for the opportunity to represent the Pacific Southwest Region at the World Series held in New York in mid-August. One local team, the Battle 13U squad, will be coached by Darek Martinez, Rob Smith, Justin Powell, and Timmy Urbanik and represent Carbon County.

Ahead of the upcoming tournament, three members of the Battle team joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports. Jace Bosone, Nate Tatton, and Jason Cowley all talked about a recent tournament, this year's team, and the upcoming Pacific Southwest Regional.

Emery High School soccer coach Troy Winter joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports Tuesday afternoon to recap the 2024 soccer season, which came to an end in the opening round of the 3A state tournament. Coach Winter also talked about the senior class and those expected returners for the 2025 season.
