Teams of 13-year-olds from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah will descend upon Carbon County in late July for the opportunity to represent the Pacific Southwest Region at the World Series held in New York in mid-August. One local team, the Battle 13U squad, will be coached by Darek Martinez, Rob Smith, Justin Powell, and Timmy Urbanik and represent Carbon County.

Ahead of the upcoming tournament, three members of the Battle team joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports. Rigdon Rhoten, Austin Leonard and Jack Madrid all talked about a recent tournament, this year's team and the upcoming Pacific Southwest Regional.

Emery High School boy's basketball coach Dave Justice joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports Monday afternoon. During his time on the show, coach Justice talked about the team's summer workouts, traveling to the Summer Games, preparing for the USU Eastern basketball camp and also about the upcoming youth camp on June 11 and 12.
