The USU Eastern soccer season is slated to begin on August 11 for the both men and women's teams. Thursday on KOAL's Drive Time Sports head coach Jared Woodhouse previewed the upcoming season with host Jordan Buscarini.
After winning the Pacific Southwest Regional Tournament, Battle Baseball players Jaxton Smith, Alex Martinez, and Austin Leonard join Drive Time Sports.
Teams of 13-year-olds from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah will descend upon Carbon County in late July for the opportunity to represent the Pacific Southwest Region at the World Series held in New York in mid-August. One local team, the Battle 13U squad, will be coached by Darek Martinez, Rob Smith, Justin Powell, and Timmy Urbanik and represent Carbon County.
Ahead of the upcoming tournament, three members of the Battle team joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports. Rigdon Rhoten, Austin Leonard and Jack Madrid all talked about a recent tournament, this year's team and the upcoming Pacific Southwest Regional.
