Teams of 13-year-olds from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah will descend upon Carbon County in late July for the opportunity to represent the Pacific Southwest Region at the World Series held in New York in mid-August. One local team, the Battle 13U squad, will be coached by Darek Martinez, Rob Smith, Justin Powell, and Timmy Urbanik and represent Carbon County.

Ahead of the upcoming tournament, three members of the Battle team joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports. Jaxton Smith, Alex Martinez, and Mason Powell talked about winning the state championship and what's next for the team.

 

9-11-24 Carbon High School golf coach Robbie Etzel joins Drive Time Sports

The Carbon High School golf team put together their most dynamic performance of the season as the team shot a 295 last week at Juab's home course. Leading the way for Carbon was Rydge Butler, who topped all golfers individually, with a 68. Carbon coach Robbie Etzel joined the show to talk about his team's outstanding day and what's next as they travel to Delta's home course.
