Tuesday afternoon Carbon High School golf coach Robbie Etzel joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports to talk about his team's second place finish last week at home and Thursday's meet at Millsite.
Teams of 13-year-olds from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah will descend upon Carbon County in late July for the opportunity to represent the Pacific Southwest Region at the World Series held in New York in mid-August. One local team, the Battle 13U squad, will be coached by Darek Martinez, Rob Smith, Justin Powell, and Timmy Urbanik and represent Carbon County.
Ahead of the upcoming tournament, three members of the Battle team joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports. Rigdon Rhoten, Austin Leonard and Jack Madrid all talked about a recent tournament, this year's team and the upcoming Pacific Southwest Regional.
Thursday's Drive Time Sports featured Steve Bortstein, who helped preview the upcoming season ahead of Thursday nights openers between the Nationals-Yankees and Dodgers-Giants.
College football guru Phil Steele joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports Thursday afternoon to preview the 2021 season. During his time on the show Steele talked about the Utah Utes, BYU Cougars and gave his prediction for the 2021 four team playoff.
